PROPAGANDA ASSIGNMENTCreate your own piece of propaganda using the techniques we looked at in World War II.
You will be able to choose the country with which you have to represent in the propaganda.
Think about the following things:
Steps
1. Select one of the topics
2. Look at Propaganda Strategies
3. Use a paper provided by the teacher
4. Include color, pictures, and a slogan
Topics to choose from:
• Encourage men to enlist
• Pressure women to encourage their husbands, brothers and boyfriends to enlist
• Encourage women to help out at home e.g. conserving food, buying victory bonds
• Encourage children to help the war effort e.g. purchasing war stamps
• Persecution / suspicion of enemy aliens
• Encouraging pacifism (not fighting)
• Glamorizing the war heroes
Rubric:
15 points - One Main Picture
5 points - Color or black and white at teacher approval
10 points - Slogan or Catch Phrase in appropriate language (Do Not offend your teachers or classmates!)
10 points - Persuasion Technique
10 points - Neatness
10 points - Topic clearly showcased
40 points - On the back of your poster write a paragraph explaining how your poster represents propaganda. What technique did you use? How does your slogan help persuade people? Is your picture the best choice to convince people to believe in your topic? What is your topic? What country are you representing?
